The debate of what extension method is right for you is one of the biggest & most popular conversations in the hair industry! So let’s break it down!

There are so many different hair extension methods out there but let's go over the most popular and well known ones.

Clip-Ins $:

Clip-in extensions are a semi-permanent method that consist of multiple wefts of hair that are pre-attached with barrette-like clips. These clips allow for easy and secure attachment to the natural hair, without the need for adhesives, heat, or professional installation.

This method is for you if:

  • You are looking for a method that is easy to apply & remove yourself
  • If you are looking for a cost effective way of changing or enhancing your look
  • Wanting a temporary transformation
  • You are wanting something low maintenance & easy to take care of
  • New to extensions and wanting to try them without the financial commitment

Tape-Ins $$:

Tape-in extensions is a hair extension method that involves sandwiching a section of hair between two wefts with adhesive tape.

This method is for you if:

  • You are wanting a method where the hair can be reused, the adhesive strips can be removed, cleaned and replaced during your maintenance appointments
  • You can commit to maintenance every 8-10wks
  • If you have regular - thick hair this method is suitable for your hair
  • Prefer quick maintenance appointment, when installed by a certified professional the method can be done within a couple hours

Fusion Extensions [K-tip Hair Extensions] $$$:

Fusion extensions otherwise known as k-tips or keratin bonds, this method involves attaching individual strands of hair to the natural hair using a keratin-based adhesive.

This Method is for you if:

  • You are wanting a method with durability and little salon maintenance, generally this method will last 3-6months 

*please note after 3-6 months you will need to get new hair*

  • You are wanting a high level of customization, these type of extensions are quite small so can target specific areas that other methods cannot
  • You can withstand longer hair appointments and higher appointment costs
  • You have fine - regular hair density

QALI Micro-weft Method $$:

The QALI Method is a weft method that requires no glueing, sewing or braiding. 

This method is for you if:

  • You have fine - regular hair density
  • You want a method without adhesives
  • Prefer quick maintenances & installations
  • Looking for high quality hair & maintenances at a fair price


There is alot of other hair extension methods out there! Here's a couple questions to ask yourself to help you narrow down what method is right for you.

  • How much do you want to spend on hair extensions? Consider not only the initial investment of hair but also the maintenance costs.
  • What is your day-to-day routine? Are you someone that will style & blow dry there hair after every wash?
  • How much time do you want to spend in the chair at the salon?
  • Does the method suit your lifestyle? For example if you are someone that is a swimmer and you are constantly in pools or the ocean, clip-ins may be the best option for you vs permanent hair extensions.
  • What are your goals with hair extensions?
